A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today between the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and the "Elpida" Charitable Foundation for Children with Cancer and Leukemia, reaffirming their shared commitment to promoting initiatives that enhance human health, social cohesion, and humanitarian contribution.
The Memorandum of Understanding is grounded in the shared principles of the two organizations for defending every human being's right to health, prevention, medical and psychosocial care, and a dignified life without discrimination.
Within the framework of this collaboration, the two Parties will develop joint actions in the fields of awareness, education, humanitarian aid, medical and psychosocial care, as well as palliative support, with a special focus on children with cancer and leukemia, their families, survivors of serious illnesses, and other vulnerable social groups.
The President of the CCCI, Mr. Stavros Stavrou, stated: "Social contribution is an integral part of the CCCI's mission. Through this partnership with the 'Elpida' Foundation, we aim to contribute substantially to strengthening initiatives that support children and their families, while also raising awareness within the business community on vital health and social solidarity issues. We are convinced that collaboration among public, private, and social entities can create real added value for society."
On behalf of the "Elpida" Foundation, its President, Dr. Loizos Loizou, stated: "The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with the CCCI marks the beginning of an important strategic partnership that will strengthen the support we offer to children with cancer and leukemia and their families. We are joining forces to promote prevention, early diagnosis, equal access to quality healthcare services, and psychosocial support, aiming to offer more hope and better prospects to those in need."
The signing of the Memorandum represents the beginning of a close cooperation between the two organizations, driven by a shared vision to develop initiatives that will strengthen social solidarity, promote health, and leave a meaningful and lasting positive footprint on Cypriot society.
